The Trouble Countdown has begun and apart from the usual questions (will there be enough dykes? will I find a suitable tie?) I’ve been struggling with another important issue. Every time I’ve played at Trouble I wanted to play The Ultimate Bette Song “What A Feeling” and every single time I chickened out. Even though I’ve got a pretty cool remix of the song which makes it sound a tiny bit more contemporary, I always think it is too old and too camp to fit in at Trouble. But deep down I’m dying to play it, because apart from it being The Ultimate Bette song, I also find it an irresistible dance-around-smiling-song. So, it looks like I might need a little bit of encouraging! If there are enough Bette-loving dykes on the dance floor before 1 o’clock, I Will Play It! I swear. I think.
